Medical Examiner

The Huron County Medical Examiner’s Office continues to serve the residents of Huron County by issuing permits and death certificates, approving cremations, and conducting medical investigations on all unexplained deaths throughout the entire Huron County area.

We work closely with the funeral homes, physician offices, hospitals, EMS and local law enforcement agencies to get a complete record of information on each individual that goes through the ME Office. We maintain a confidential record keeping system provided by the Huron County Health Department.

With our 1st year behind us, we have settled into a productive and efficient system. It takes the dedication of many people to make things work well and we will continue to work to improve our processes, to best serve the needs of Huron County familes and agencies. We look forward to continuing to provide this necessary service to the residents of Huron County, and appreciate everyone’s dedication to this program.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
