2025 Senior Project Fresh

Senior Project Fresh Program Updates
IMPORTANT NOTICE: an additional $25 has just been added to Senior Project Fresh Benefit cards for Huron County residents. Check your balance to see if you have more funds to spend.
As the Michigan produce growing season is quickly coming to an end, we would like to remind our Huron County Senior Project Fresh Participants of the following:
-
You must spend any money left on your benefits card by October 31. 2025. If you don’t use it, you will lose it. Money does not carry over to next year.
-
You can check your cards balance by looking in the Healthy Together app or by calling MDHHS at 855-773-6424.
-
Please put your benefits card in a safe place, where you can find it next year. While the card is reusable, you must sign up every year. By keeping your card, money will be added when you sign up again in spring, avoiding the wait for a new card in the mail.
-
If you have not already signed up, the last date to register for Senior Project Fresh this year is September 30, 2025. Call the Huron County Health Department at 989-269-3305 for assistance with this.
-
There are still plenty of fresh fall fruits and vegetables available. While some markets may be closing soon for the season, others remain open through the month of October. The following participating markets are still open to spend your Project Fresh funds:
-
Happy Farmer Produce LLC, 1861 N Pinnebog, Elkton
-
Polega’s Produce, 6480 Bay City Forestville Rd, Cass City
-
Pt Austin Farmers Market, 17 W State St, Port Austin (closing Oct. 4th)
-
Thumbknuckle Market, 6470 Van Dyke, Cass City
-
Caro Farmers Market, 238 S State St., Caro
-
Homegrown Haven, 3180 Mills Rd, Deckerville, MI 48427
9/12/2025 Update: Extra Funds Added to Cards!
The Huron County Senior Project Fresh program is pleased to announce that all participating residents will receive an additional $25 per person added to their Project Fresh benefit cards.
Funds have already begun appearing on cards and should be fully loaded for all participants by the end of today, Friday, September 12, 2025.
No action is required by participants—funds are automatically added to existing cards. The additional $25 must be used by October 31, 2025.
