Guest Speaker
Jill Ogryski is a lifelong resident of Huron County, a proud Ubly Bearcat and MSU Spartan alumni. Jill has worked for Ubly Community Schools for the past 26 years, 24 as an educator and 2 as an administrator. She has 2 successful daughters, Kylie (Jeremy) Singleton (23) from South Carolina and Hope (14) at home.
Fourteen years ago, the Ogryski Girls (as Jill calls herself and her daughters) lost her husband and their father to suicide. Over ten years ago, Jill shared their story, at the Huron County Walk for Suicide Awareness, of moving through the very beginning phases of their loss. Now she would like to share the continuation of that journey with other survivors: the highs, the lows, the hopes, the regrets. Jill doesn't come with a professional grief counseling background, but instead offers her family's personal story of survival in the hopes that we can all do the same to promote mental health awareness in honor of our lost loved ones.
